Care Innovations - English

Everyone wants to live on their own terms with confidence.

Our technology makes it possible.

Our company

Intel-GE Care Innovations™ creates technology-based solutions that give people confidence to live independently, wherever they are. But, perhaps surprisingly, we don’t start with technology. We start with the people who use our products. Care Innovations is deeply committed to these people. We’ve spent nearly 12 years living with, talking with, studying, observing, and listening to people at all levels of healthcare and independent living. And we’re including them as active participants in the solutions we deliver.

Intel and GE Logos

Care Innovations is a unique joint venture between Intel Corporation
and GE. Both companies have a long history of driving innovation, solving hard problems, and creating new markets. And now we’ve combined forces—GE’s expertise in healthcare and Intel’s expertise in technology— to change the way care and solutions are delivered.

As Care Innovations, we carry forward our knowledge of the industry; insight into creating new business models for changing times; deep involvement in standards and policy setting organizations; and a strong belief that we can do better—that we must do better—at creating solutions that work for our enterprise customers and the people they serve.

In the same way that we’re committed to listening to what the ultimate consumers of our solutions need, we’re committed to truly partnering with you, our customers, to deliver solutions that will stand the test of time. We’re also committed to helping you discover the new partnerships and business models that will define your success now and in the future. We know that the current array of highly specialized, highly proprietary, highly customized—and therefore very expensive—solutions are not the answer. The industry needs to cooperate to develop standards and integration, accelerate innovation, and deliver the solutions that millions of people need to live independently wherever they are.

Let’s create meaningful change together.

We back up our mission with everything we do

As a new company, we are committed to upholding the traditions of corporate responsibility established by our parent companies, Intel and GE. We are passionate about community involvement, environmental stewardship, safe products, and occupational health and safety.

We create products that we’re proud to use ourselves

With corporate principles of quality, integrity and discipline guiding our behaviors, we work with required regulatory bodies to ensure that our products meet the industry’s highest standards of quality and efficacy.

Quality

We comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration quality system regulations, and are certified to ISO 13485, a standard that provides a basis for quality management systems that satisfy international medical device regulations. Our internal Quality System also lets us offer products that meet the highest standards of quality.

Employee Health & Safety

Care Innovations is committed to providing a safe and injury-free workplace for our employees and contractors by integrating safety into our daily business decisions and processes.

Management leads this effort, and all employees are responsible for both their safety and the safety of those around them. We also actively promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage employees to proactively manage their personal health, and incorporate access to local fitness facilities wherever possible.

We’re helping to keep the world clean

We’re reducing our environmental footprint and improving our ecological performance in our products and where we work.

Product ecology

We recognize that our product lifecycles have an end, and we want to do the right thing when that happens. The countries where our products are distributed have differing regulations about how to dispose of unused equipment or hazardous substances such as batteries. We use a third party to help us comply with applicable regulations.

Intel and GE will continue to manage product ecology for any products that bear their brands. We are developing our own programs, and we’re working to have the products we distribute in the European Union be Green Dot certified.‬

Workplace ecology

Selecting office space in existing buildings is just one way we’re helping to reduce our environmental footprint. The philosophy that guides our retrofitting requires materials (including carpet and paint) that are recyclable or that use recycled components, and optimizing use of space with efficient office layouts.‬

To minimize energy use, our office lights have energy efficient bulbs, and automatically shut off when not in use. We recycle aluminum and plastic, and our employees are given a plastic water cup, a plastic coffee cup, and filtered water to reduce paper and plastic waste.

We’re active in our communities

Our commitment is to be a responsible member of the communities around us. Every quarter, employees in our primary locations in Oregon, New York, and California take part in hands-on activities led by designated community outreach leaders. Our employees can also pledge financial support to United Way and/or specific non-profit 503c agencies through the United Way. Several of our employees are committed to athletic fund-raising events, such as Team Will Cycle across America and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society* Team in Training events.

Activity criteria

Our goal is to support activities that help seniors, children, and people trying to live healthier, more independent lives. To achieve this goal, we build relationships with non-profits or charities that have year-round needs, and that individually and personally involve our employees. Examples include food banks, Agency on Aging, and group homes for youth.
