Louis J Burns

LOUIS BURNSChief Executive Officer

Louis Burns is the Care Innovations Chief Executive Officer. A passionate global thought leader in the healthcare and technology spaces, Louis is committed to creating a company that creates solutions to help millions of people live healthy, connected lives. He takes the unique approach of starting with the people, not the technology itself, when developing new solutions for the marketplace. Since the formation of Care Innovations in January 2011, Louis has overseen the launch of two new solutions for the healthcare and independent living markets and achieved a novel FDA clearance for a software-based virtual care coordination platform. In addition, he has spoken around the world about the need for a healthy, competitive marketplace for integrated innovations that address health, wellness, and education.

Louis’ role at Care Innovations builds upon his most recent position as Vice President and General Manager of the Intel Digital Health Group, where he led the group from its inception in 2005 to transform global healthcare by connecting people and information. Under his leadership, the Digital Health Group released the Mobile Clinical Assistant reference design; designed, developed and launched the Intel® Health Guide; designed, developed, and launched the Intel® Reader; and formed both the Continua Health Alliance and Dossia.

Prior to his move into healthcare, Louis was General Manager of a variety of Intel business groups where he led the design, engineering and market development of processors, chipsets, motherboards, software and services. He served as Chief Information Officer for four years and led a variety of sales and marketing teams over a 12-year period. Louis was appointed an Intel Vice President in 1996 and an elected Corporate Vice President in 1997.

Douglas Busch

DOUGLAS BUSCHSenior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Doug Busch is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Care Innovations. He runs the Product Lifecycle Organization, with responsibility for product development, product/service roadmaps, manufacturing, operations, supply chain management, and customer support, as well as overall responsibility for internal operations.

Doug has more than 30 years of experience leading technical, operational and customer support functions, including a position as Intel Corporation's corporate Chief Information Officer. He most recently served as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in the Intel Digital Health Group, where he had extensive experience leading organizational change and delivering complex products and services.

In previous roles in the Digital Health Group, Doug was responsible for strategic planning, biomedical research, regulatory, and health IT advocacy activities. Prior to the formation of the Digital Health Group, he served from 1999 to 2005 as the CIO for Intel Corporation, with responsibility for all information systems supporting Intel's global business, manufacturing and engineering functions.

Doug joined Intel in 1987, and has held a variety of leadership positions in manufacturing, logistics, and information technology. He was appointed an Intel vice president in 1999 and elected corporate vice president in 2000. Prior to joining Intel, he led research and product development programs at Battelle Memorial Institute.

He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University.

Edward Kleinhans

Edward KleinhansVice President, General Counsel

Edward (Eddy) Kleinhans joined Care Innovations as Vice President and General Counsel in April 2012 after serving as the company’s acting General Counsel for 15 months. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs, including contracts management, business development, intellectual property, corporate governance and management of outside counsel and vendors. He also serves as the company’s Corporate Secretary and as an officer of Care Innovations.

As a 14-year veteran in the discipline of law, Eddy has held leadership positions across a number of industries and companies. Prior to joining Care Innovations, Eddy practiced law as an attorney at Axiom Legal Solutions, Inc. for three years, providing in-house counsel to Care Innovations, Singulex, Inc., Tethys Bioscience, Inc., Affymetrix Corporation, Intel Corporation and Beckman Coulter Corporation. From 2006 to 2008, Eddy was the Senior Director, Legal Affairs at Anthera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He began his legal career at Brobeck, Phleger and Harrison LLP in the litigation department before transitioning to the corporate department at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and specializes in counseling on corporate matters, including business development activities, corporate governance, financings, and securities transactions.

Eddy received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with honors. He received his Juris Doctor from NYU School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California.

Kelly Fehrenbach

KELLY FEHRENBACHVice President, Chief Financial Officer,
Chief Compliance Officer

Kelly Fehrenbach is the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer with responsibility for the finance, accounting, treasury, corporate compliance, and internal audit functions. Kelly has 13 years of finance leadership and internal audit experience with various business entities within General Electric (GE) She also served more than 11 years in a variety of logistics leadership positions for the U.S. Army, where she received two Meritorious Service medals and four Army Commendation Medals.

Kelly most recently served as Manager, Commercial and Financial Planning for Care Innovations and provided critical leadership for the team, from the company’s formation through May 2012. With Kelly’s leadership, the company stood up a new financial system and completed its first external financial audit. Prior to joining Care Innovations, Kelly was CFO of a division of GE Healthcare Clinical Systems where she provided business and financial leadership and strategic planning for a global engineering, manufacturing, and distribution P&L. She also worked as an auditor on GE’s Global Corporate Audit Staff and as a Quality Engineer with GE Appliances.

Kelly received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at Westpoint and her Masters of Business Administration in International Business Management from Long Island University.

Randall Swanson

RANDALL SWANSONVice President, Business Operations

Randy Swanson is the Vice President of Business Operations, with responsibility for business development, IT, legal, human resources and business process operations.

As a 17-year Intel veteran, Randy has held a variety of finance and business development positions across numerous business groups at Intel, including Digital Health Group, New Business Group, Intel Architecture Group, and the Technology & Manufacturing Group. Randy most recently served as Controller and Director of Business Development in the Digital Health Group as an influential member of a startup team, setting the company's investment strategy and business model. Prior to this role, Randy served as the Controller of the Intel Americas' Sales and Marketing Operation Finance where he led a team responsible for revenue reporting and marketing program execution in Intel's North and South America sales and marketing group.

Randy received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Clarkson University, a Masters in Business Administration at Michigan Business School, and a Masters of Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan.

Steve Backers

STEVE BACKERSDirector, Human Resources

Steve Backers is Director of Human Resources and is responsible for the company’s global human resources strategy, which includes talent program design and execution, talent acquisition and development, rewards, engagement and retention. Steve brings over 25 years of business experience to the leadership team.

Prior to his role at Care Innovations, Steve held a variety of positions in Human Resources, Finance, and product groups at Intel. Specific areas of HR focus include talent management, career development, college programs, and executive leadership development, for which he earned the prestigious Intel Achievement Award. Steve’s experience in Finance includes Budgets & Planning, Internal Audit, Benefits, Accounting, and Tax.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce with an emphasis in Finance and his Masters in Business Administration, both from Santa Clara University. Steve is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Michael Bassett

MICHAEL BASSETTDirector of Customer Operations

Michael Bassett is responsible for customer operations for the company, which includes program management of large customer deployments, clinical services, manufacturing, and service operations.

Prior to assuming this role, Mike was the General Manager of the Assistive Technologies business segment at Care Innovations. Over the past 10 years, Mike has served various leadership roles in Intel's IT and Digital Health groups with responsibilities for R&D, systems architecture, product management, M&A, and business line management. He most recently served as the Intel® Reader Business Line Manager in the Digital Health Group where he was responsible for building the sales channel and developing key VAR, partner, and customer relationships. Prior to Intel, Mike has provided IT, product development, and sales and marketing expertise in a variety of industries, with roles at Verizon Data Services, Inc., Cobra Consulting Organization, and GTE Data Services, Inc.

Mike graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. He received a Masters of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management, summa cum laude, from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He is a member of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and Global Knowledge & Economics Council (GKEC).

Becky Davis

BECKY DAVISDirector of Marketing

Becky Davis, Director of Marketing, is responsible for branding, PR, events, corporate communications, digital media, and employee communications. Becky brings 18 years of marketing experience to the leadership team.

Prior to her role at Care Innovations, Becky held a variety of management, marketing, and strategic planning positions across numerous business groups at Intel, including Digital Health Group, Emerging Markets Platform Group, Corporate Diversity, Desktop Platforms Group, and Information Technology. She has been awarded two Intel Achievement Awards, the most prestigious recognition at the company.

Becky received her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and management at the University of California, Davis. She studied organizational development with a minor in business management for her bachelor's degree at California State University, Chico.

Eric Dishman

ERIC DISHMANDirector of Health Policy

Eric Dishman, Director of Health Policy, is responsible for public policy, industry groups, and evangelism at Care Innovations. Eric holds a dual appointment, supporting Care Innovations while continuing as an Intel Fellow and the executive responsible for driving Intel’s global strategy, research, and policy initiatives in healthcare.

He founded Intel’s first healthcare lab in 1999 and co-founded the Intel Digital Health Group, which recently formed the Care Innovations joint venture. Trained as a social scientist, Eric leads a team who has conducted a ten-year study of the needs of over 1000 patients and hundreds of clinicians in 20 countries to inform Intel’s innovation and policy efforts.

Eric is widely recognized as a global leader in healthcare innovation, especially home and community-based technologies for chronic disease management and independent living. He co-founded and chaired some of the world’s largest research and policy organizations devoted to advancing the cause of independent living, including the Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) Centre, the Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST), and the Oregon Center for Aging & Technology (ORCATECH). The Wall Street Journal named him one of “12 People Who Are Changing Your Retirement” and the magazine Fast Company named Dishman to its list of “The 100 Most Creative People in Business 2011.” His work has also recently been featured on the Discovery Channel's Curiosity Project.

Eric received bachelor's degrees in Speech Communication, English, and Drama from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in Communication from Southern Illinois University. His Ph.D. work at the University of Utah focused on social scientific methods for technology innovation in healthcare and other industries.

Aaron Duerksen

AARON DUERKSENGeneral Manager, Disease Management

Aaron Duerksen, General Manager, is responsible for all aspects of the global go-to-market strategy and operations for the Disease Management segment.

Prior to his current role, Aaron was Region Vice President at GE Healthcare's diagnostic imaging group, where he led a team focused on delivering advanced diagnostic equipment and solutions to a diverse market of healthcare providers.

In addition, Aaron held a variety of roles in sales, quality management, commercial operations, and leadership throughout 16 years at GE Healthcare. Prior to joining GE, Aaron supervised corporate and business development activities in small cap international firms located in South Africa, Boston, and Seattle.

Aaron attended Boston College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications.

Bonnie Norman

BONNIE NORMANDirector of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs

Bonnie Norman, Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, is responsible for the quality management system processes and compliance, product quality, and worldwide regulatory affairs. With over 20 years of in-depth regulatory affairs and quality assurance experience, Bonnie is chartered with helping Care Innovations realize its business goals while simultaneously setting an industry example in product quality, compliance, and innovation.

Bonnie joined Intel as the Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for the Digital Health Group in May 2007. In this role she was responsible for ensuring user safety, product quality, and compliance for sales and marketing, design, and manufacturing activities across all Digital Health products.

Prior to joining Intel, Bonnie held a number of engineering management positions, specializing in complex software-driven electro-mechanical devices for both regulated and non-regulated industries. She was the founder of The Taregon Group, a consulting organization that assisted medical device, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies with a variety of design, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory issues, including project management, FDA audits, design controls, strategic planning, contract manufacturer selection, and training. Prior to this role, Bonnie held managerial positions at Battelle Memorial Institute and Colorado MEDtech, where she provided strategic insight on development, manufacturing, and marketing issues across a breadth of Class II and Class III medical devices.

James Pursley

JAMES PURSLEYVice President, Sales & Marketing

Jim Pursley is responsible for global sales and marketing for the company, which includes worldwide sales, integrated marketing, and press and analyst relations.

Prior to assuming this role, Jim was the General Manager of the Independent Living business segment at Care Innovations. He also served as the General Manager of Sales & Marketing for GE Healthcare's Aging Services. Serving in this role since November 2008, Jim was responsible for all sales and marketing efforts in North America for GE Healthcare's Aging Services business. Under Jim's leadership GE Healthcare built and grew their commercial capacity, focusing on delivering triple-digit revenue growth and establishing a leadership presence in this emerging market. He was also responsible for identifying new trends in technology and working closely with research and development to create the next generation of tools and solutions to support GE Healthcare's vision of “empowering every person to live an independent, confident, healthier life through connected technologies.”

Jim began his career at GE in 2001 with the Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP) at GE Capital, where he held project management roles in IT, Quality, and Risk. After completing IMLP, Jim joined GE Healthcare in the Commercial Leadership Program (CLP) and has held a variety of commercial roles since graduation. Jim began his career at Merrill Lynch in their Private Client Group.

Jim holds a Bachelors of Science in Management Sciences & Information Systems from Penn State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.

Tom Gentile

TOM GENTILE

Chairman of the Board, Intel-GE Care Innovations™
President & CEO, Healthcare Systems, GE Healthcare

Tom Gentile has assumed the role of the chairman of the board for Intel-GE Care Innovations. Gentile was appointed President and CEO of GE Healthcare’s Healthcare Systems division in May of 2011. Healthcare Systems is GE’s $12 billion business that develops some of the best-known medical technologies including: computed tomography, magnetic resonance, ultrasound, molecular imaging, patient care solutions, x-ray, interventional, life support systems and home health.

Gentile is a 13-year GE veteran and most recently spent three years as Vice President of GE Aviation’s Services division, transforming the services business into a global $7 billion platform. Before Aviation, he held a series of leadership roles in GE Capital’s businesses in the US, France and Australia, overseeing key acquisitions, consumer product launches and driving profitable growth.

Before GE, Gentile held leadership and strategy roles with McKinsey & Company, American broadcaster CBS, and General Motors.

Gentile earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and his MBA from Harvard University, and studied international relations at the London School of Economics .

Robert Crooke

Vice President and General Manager, Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group,
Intel Corporation

Robert Crooke is an Intel corporate vice president and is general manager of the Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) Solutions Group. This group is responsible for Intel's component, module and SSD NVM businesses. Just prior to this Crooke led the Intel® Atom* and System on a Chip Development Group (ASDG), a group responsible for delivering world-class low-power processors for the Atom* processor product line as well as developing enabling technology for system-on-a-chip (SoC) products across the company.

Previously, Robert served as vice president and general manager of the Business Client Group where he was responsible for Intel's desktop products and directing Intel's cross-client vision for business client computing. Prior to this, Robert was vice president and director of marketing and planning in the Desktop Products Group. This included the processor and chipset product roadmaps as well as digital home and digital office initiatives. From 2000 to 2004 Robert was vice president and general manager of the Platform Architecture and Solutions Division. In this role he was responsible for the company's development of motherboard products in addition to desktop microprocessor and chipset enabling technology. Robert has served as director of marketing for the Basic Microprocessor Division and Performance Microprocessor Division. He joined Intel in 1989 in the sales force as a field applications engineer and spent nine years in the field in various roles.

Prior to joining Intel, Robert held design engineering positions at Alliant Computer Systems and Custom Silicon Inc. He received his bachelor's degree in computer systems engineering from the University of Massachusetts in 1985. Robert was appointed vice president in 2002 and elected corporate vice president in 2005.

Jan De Witte

JAN DE WITTE

Jan De Witte has been President and CEO of Performance Solutions since May 2010, responsible for building GE Healthcare’s knowledge solutions capabilities into a new growth business that provides new ways of organizing, measuring, and managing healthcare delivery over the full cycle of care to drive better cost, quality and access.

In April 2011, Jan was named to the additional role of President and CEO of Healthcare IT, a $1.4 billion segment of GE Healthcare. GE Healthcare IT is a global leader in delivering information technology solutions that support high-quality and cost-effective care through business, clinical, and imaging applications covering settings from the physician office to the integrated delivery network.

As CEO of these advisory and technology businesses, Jan will enable them to synchronize their strategies and common areas of cooperation, positioning GEHC as a unique partner to the healthcare industry.

Jan has served in a number of strategic technology and business leadership roles since he joined GE in 1999. He has a diverse background in services, digital business strategy, supply chain, manufacturing, quality and Lean Six Sigma. Previously Jan led GE Healthcare’s $1.2 billion Services business across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, a role that also oversaw the company’s regional Healthcare IT businesses.

Prior to GE, Jan held a variety of operational management positions in supply chain and manufacturing at Procter & Gamble in Europe. From 1993 to 1998 Jan served as Senior Consultant with McKinsey & Company in Brussels, Amsterdam, and Zurich in business strategy development and performance improvement, serving clients in airline, process and high tech industries across Europe.

Jan is a GE Officer. He graduated with the greatest distinction from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) in 1987 with a Masters of Science degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Jan earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1993.

Deborah S. Conrad

DEBORAH S. CONRAD

Vice President. Chief Marketing Officer, Intel Corporation

Deborah S. Conrad is corporate vice president and chief marketing officer for Intel Corporation. She is responsible for the company's global brand management and marketing strategy. This includes marketing programs, product positioning and launch management, insights and marketing research, advertising, media, sales channels and promotional campaigns, all designed to reach consumer and business customers worldwide.

Prior to being named CMO in 2008, Conrad created and directed Team Apple and oversaw all aspects of the Intel and Apple relationship since the beginning of the partnership in 2005. She was responsible for all aspects of the Intel and Apple business, including sales and revenue, product engineering, software development support and market development. She has held a variety of international marketing, corporate communications, alliance management and market development positions since joining Intel in 1986. Previously she held positions at Tektronix and Jansen Associates.

Conrad is also presently on the board of the Intel Foundation, ANA and Ad Council.
