Meet Sara

Sara attends a high school in Oregon that serves students with a variety of learning differences. To help its students succeed, the school supplements traditional instruction with assistive technology. For Sara, reading is especially difficult impacting her processing and comprehension of the information contained in books, handouts, and so on. The Intel® Reader from Intel-GE Care Innovations™ has changed Sara’s life at school, at home, and beyond by helping her read, study, and learn on her own terms.

With its easy point-and-shoot functionality and optical character recognition, the Intel® Reader captures printed text, and then reads it back in a variety of voices and speeds. At school, Sara is able to access coursework and lesson content in total confidence right along with her classmates. No more feeling left behind. The Intel Reader is not intended for reading primarily mathematical, scientific or financial data. The Intel Reader is currently only available with English language capability.
